Revathi - Fight against all odds

Revathi, a mother of two daughters hails from Neikuppam village near Anakarai in Thiruppanandal Taluk of Thanjavur District. Despite being a handicap and shattered by the untimely demise of her husband, she fought against all the odds in taking care of her large family. Her husband Senthil Kumar , who travelled abroad to win bread for his family had met with an accident within two months of his landing there and succumbed to injuries after a eight month long struggle at a hospital in that alien land. After his demise, the responsibility of taking care of the aged in-laws and two unmarried sister-in-laws along with her two daughters fell on the feeble shoulders of Revathi. Determined to face the taunting task, she tried to land in a job but could not succeed. She ascribes the job-searching phase as the most painful and harrowing. The failure to clinch a job changed her mind , she decided to take up the path of self-employment and joined PAT tailoring center at Thiruppanandal. She quickly learned the art of stiching clothes from the experienced tutors. Supported by her late husband’s friends she purchased a sewing machine and started serving the clients from her home. Revathi acknowledges PAT for bringing change in course of her life and term PAT as the guiding light for many women like her in life. PAT salutes this lady for her courage and determination,
